2020 Week 1 ...

#JamesRaider Weekly RANT
Please read until the end.

First thing before my rant👏👏👏
The 1st time in almost two years Raider Nation came together and DID NOT FUCKING SHARE the game keep it up all and we will be able to put it up for you👏👏👏

Now my RANT.

Are you Fucking kidding me WTF.
I have read a lot of comments in posts and this Rant is for the arm chair QB/Coaches you know who you are because you have no clue about Football.

Many of you are trippin on DC for what? I do not know why new season with no preseason play only team practice and scrimmages,They came out Sunday and got the W period team effort.

The bullshit that Carr threw the ball short to RUGGS III LMFAO he dropped that perfect with two backs 10 yards away crossing the field then up the side line RUGGS still had room to run 11yrds after the catch to the cone then JJ PUNCHED IT IN FFS!!! Oh he under threw that tho SMFH!!
Ok wait that is like in Basketball that “swoosh sound” pass to the corner of the end zone to Agholor he over threw that one right!!!!

We just won our season opener historic at that as the Las Vegas Raiders they will always be the Raiders no matter the city they play in to me, but do me a favor when ship docks Monday in the new port in Vegas all you so call fans/haters see you later and there will be no Bandwagon waiting for you stay in your moms basement!!!

Thoughts from Raiderz Girl....

Finally the beginning of a new football season!! We are definitely living in another time. I was able to watch the Draft mostly all the way through our last pick. It was just not as fun. The most fun was chiming in with my friends from our Raider Reaction group. I kept my eye out each time a new player is drafted. Their honest raw emotion when they finally get that call from Coach Gruden. It is everything and gets me so stoked for this new season. Less drama please!! I also enjoyed watching the families react. Put myself in their shoes. How exciting. The parents and all the family sacrifices. The time spent taking them to practices, and games. All the effort and hard work the players put into themselves to reach this moment. The call!!! While I feel for the undrafted players and how crushing that can be. Can you even imagine just sitting by your hoping your phone rings and answer to have your dreams come true? And now your next chapter begins!! It’s got to be really nerve racking and amazing! I always try to be supportive of all our picks. Personally I don’t watch college football, so I don’t get angry when a name that isn't as “shopped” gets called as the next player drafted by the Raiders. I don’t know them from Joe Schmo off the street until they become our player. Which is why it’s hard to wrap my mind around the fact people automatically can call someone garbage or say they were a bad pick. We won’t know until they are out there playing. It’s beyond me why people are this way. Sometimes I sit and wonder what is the next thing those folks have to complain about. Even when we’re doing good they critique it all. Where have the days of being a fan and supporting your team gone? The good the bad the ugly. This is what I miss most. In today’s day and age were fouling up as a fandom. The comradery amongst fellow fans seems to be somewhat lost lately. All the keyboard warriors out there in an uproar. My side chick aka Derek Carr, now has all the ammo he has desperately needed over the last few years. I don’t mind any of the choices made at this years draft. How could I? I’m not the GM or coach. They get paid the money because they know what they are doing! We need to see how it all pans out! As fans you gotta support. Better days will come Raider Nation. Better days will come!!!!!

Possible Draft Diamonds in The Rough

The last few drafts for a lot of teams have given them talent but at what cost? Two 1st rounders? Some future picks? Lately, I've been realizing that it is the guys outside the top 20 who stay healthy and have produced more recently. A lot of people are talking about certain players to watch during the 2020 draft like Tua, Burrow, and even Isaiah Simmons but the names you haven't heard are probably gonna be the ones who are going to be surprising but solid picks! Zack Baun OLB from Wisconsin has been pure Gold and is a generational talent and team player. He was mocked rounds 3 to 4 but recently has crept his way into the top 40 in a lot of mocks. Another stud who is under the radar is DT Ross Blacklock. He wasn't even mentioned months ago , but now is creeping into some mocks. Blacklock is a sure day 1 starter out of TCU in my opinion. I believe he will surely go in the Top 50. He's got the power, size and motor to be a top DT in 2020 for whoever he plays for. His hand play is like no other, his timing and hand placements are grade A. Always finds the gaps and leverage points sure to be a big baller in 2020 if he can stay healthy. He did miss 2018 with an Achilles injury. These two guys are sure to surprise some fans come draft day and some teams come camp! Look out for Baun and Blacklock this upcoming season!!!

RAIDERS SIGN VERSATILE DB DAMARIOUS RANDALL LEAVING RAIDER NATION WITH MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS

As the Eli Apple saga closes due to physical issues rather than Apple and his agent pulling away from the deal, Raiders wasted no time in going after and signing former Browns Safety Demarious Randall. His versatility makes this signing very intriguing. Randall played CB in GB and Safety in Cleveland. Where does Gruden and Guenther see him fitting best in our Defense? We have the Cap space to sign another FA CB that will answer that question. If we don't then that question opens up many more questions about this acquisition.

Will they move him to slot and Joyner to safety?

Will he play CB and Safety depending on situation?

Are they looking at a CB in the draft?

Are they looking at a Safety in the draft?

Does his versatility play an important role on how we view and attack the draft? Example if Okudah or Henderson fall to #12, do they grab one of them there and play him at Safety? If neither are there do they draft a Safety at #19 and play him at Corner?

Are they high on Mullen to be the #1 CB and Isaiah Johnson or another CB to take on the #2 Role and play him at Safety or plug him into the #2 CB position?

Randall signed on a 1 year $3.25 million dollar deal. Raiders have a little over $10 million in cap space to sign another Free Agent CB. Signing a FA CB will give us a more clear picture where Guenther sees him as a better fit and how the Raiders may address the draft in relation to WR & LB and the #12 & #19 picks.

My Life as a Raider Fan.

By Raiderzgirl

There is no one clear cut explanation of the type of person or even personality that defines us. Whether you were born into it or discovered your passion for football as a youth. It could be you discovered it as a young adult.

For me... I started out being a Raiders fan by loving the colors. The silver and black. I didn’t know much about football. I didn’t know much about who was a player. I just knew I loved the color combo. And I also loved the fact that the mascot was a dark and mysterious pirate!! I was more into basketball at the time following the Lakers. But I soon started to watch the Raiders play more and more. I mean who doesn’t love watching guys beat on each other?? Haha. I know it’s more then that. But that’s how I started to become more of a Raiders fanatic.

I was still young fresh out of high school. As I got older I started to work and was able to start purchasing my Raiders gear. But that’s besides the point. I don’t have to tell you what it feels like to be known as THE Raiders fan everywhere you go. People that like other teams typically rag on you, but they also give you a nod. We’re a loyal and faithful bunch.

I remember going and watching games with some of my cousins and always dreaming of attending an actual game. Time passed by I had a daughter. I knew from the jump she was going to be everything Raiders from birth until now. Later I had a son and everything Raiders again. I almost named him Sebastian after my favorite Raider. it didn’t happen. But my fandom and loyalty remained As it had through the darkest of Raider football times.

When we drafted Derek Carr I really was focused on learning the players names and positions. Plus he was a little dreamy and easy on the eyes too. Haha. I finally went to my first NFL game when my sister moved to Dallas. It was a preseason game and the last time in recent years that we played there against the Cowgirls. We didn’t win that day (ooof course grrr) but my love of football grew even more. It’s a whole vibe when you watch your favorite team live.

I made one more preseason game when we played against the Rams at the LA coliseum. I would like to say... never again that place was garbage. Lol, sorry not a cool story other then taking my daughter to the game.

When we learned the Raiders were relocating to Las Vegas, I was beyond the moon. Being a SoCal native, driving to Vegas is just a hop skip and a jump. I got to Vegas at least twice a year. As the stadium was getting built every trip to Vegas I would drive by to see the progress. It would give me chills.

I made my way to Oakland the second to last game played at the coliseum. I didn’t know I was so bogie that I frowned on the parking lot. Lol me?! Haha, but I wasn’t there for that. I was there to see the flame and the big Oakland banner and to sit in the black hole!!! It was so fulfilling! I got to see how other people bring their fanaticism to life! I got to be around strangers that all had the same enthusiasm to be there. (Before the trash throwing - fuck those people) there was so booing for Carr. But they didn’t phase me, I got to see it all up close and fulfill my dream of sitting in the black hole. I got to see Foster score a touchdown in front of me. I got to see Carr up close again! It was rewarding.

Now we’ve entered a new era of Raider Nation and I’m all for it. My plan is to learn more in depth about each position on the field and our players. You see my son is turning four soon. And I’m not about to be a Completely clueless Momma. There’s more to being just the Mom on the sidelines!! The life of a Raider fan is a tumultuous way of living. Many downs and a few ups. But no matter what. There is no way of living in more drawn to the time he Raiders. Scrappy underdogs everyone hate us and yet keeps talking about us. We have become relevant again. And I stand proud repping my Raiders!

RAIDERS ARE FINALLY ADDRESSING THE LINEBACKER POSITION

Well a lot can be said about this off-season, first thing that comes to mind, is the signing of Corey Littleton. Littleton, the former LA Ram, shore's up the middle linebacker position for the Silver and Black. Littleton, 26, is in the prime of his career racking up 134 tackle's in 2019, with 2 interceptions, 3.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. He will he a force to be reckoned with for the Raider's in 2020. The next signing on the list is also at linebacker, Nick Kwiatowski, who filled in for the injured Danny Trevathan for the Chicago Bear's in 2019. Kwiatowski, who is also 26 years old, racked up 76 tackles 1 interception, 3 sacks and 1 forced fumble. Kwiatowski will be a solid guy to play off of Littleton in 2020. These two player's listed above are key signings to fix the Raider's linebacker core after trying to bandaid the position for so long. Needless to say thing's are looking up for the Raider's defense in 2020.

LOSS OF DRAFT MAY MAKE SIN CITY A SURE LOCK TO HOST 2025 SUPER BOWL

As everyone knows, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and nationwide shutdown, Las Vegas will lose out on hosting he 2020 NFL Draft. Rodger Goodell announced that Las Vegas may get a near future bid on the draft plus a Super Bowl bid. The Super Bowls are already set throughout the 2023 season (2024 Super Bowl) with the following cities hosting: 2021 Tampa Bay, 2022 Los Angeles, 2023 Phoenix, AZ, 2024 New Orleans, LA. Phoenix and New Orleans were awarded their bids in the summer league meetings in May of 2018 under the new process where the league awards cities the Super Bowl rather than the cities putting in bids. The next opportunity for teams to get a bid will be at this year's summer league meeting in May 19-20 at Marina Del Rey, CA, assuming the government deems it safe to do so. If not I am sure they will hold the meetings via Skype. It is then Mark Davis and Marc Badain will try to push for Las Vegas to host the SB in 2025. Rodger Goodell has been talking up Las Vegas as a near future city to host a Super Bowl in the past. It is all but a formality. It had been rumored for the last 2 years that the NFL wants to host the Super Bowl every 5 years in Las Vegas starting in 2025. More information and updates will come in the conclusion of those meetings on May 19-20.

WHAT DO THE LATEST FREE AGENT ACQUISITIONS BY THE RAIDERS MEAN?

Today we added 3 players and resigned 1: WR Nelson Agholor (1 year deal $ TBD), TE Nick O'Leary (Contract TBD), G Eric Kush (Contract TBD), RB Rod Smith (Contract TBD - Resigned). The Raiders are now signing tier 3 players. This is where certain players value drops and they become camp body players who will compete for a roster spot. All teams must fill a 90 man roster by training camp. Signing G Eric Kush does not mean Gabe Jackson is gone. Signing WR Nelson Agholor does not mean we are not drafting a WR in the 1st round. All these moves mean the Raiders are positioning themselves to have the best 90 man roster to compete. 37 of that 90 players will not make the team. Not all 53 will be starters. We need depth and special team players. What this is doing, is it is making the draft even more intriguing. The Raiders are positioning themselves to keep teams guessing their draft board and may even want to trade up at either of the first round picks. It also is positioning them to draft according to Mayock and Gruden, not us fans.

Allegiant Stadium Construction Update

Many fans have been wondering if the stadium will be built in time for the 2020 season because of the Covid-19 Pandemic that is sweeping our nation. The answer is as of now, yes. Unless this pandemic takes a turn for the worse, we have nothing to worry about. On Tuesday, March 17, Governor Steve Sisolak held a news conference and gave Nevadans a list of Essential and Non-Essential businesses. Major construction projects, which include Allegiant Stadium and the headquarters, are considered essential so construction will resume till further notice. Tommy White, President of the 872 Locals Union, and a Stadium Board Authority Council Member also was interviewed on the same day and assured that construction will resume. He added that they are on time and taking every precautionary measures to ensure everyone's health and safety at both sites. Yesterday, Raiders organization officially cut ties with the city of Oakland by declining the 1 year option in the lease agreement. This means we can take it to the bank when the Raiders organization and those involved tell us they are on schedule and it will be built by July 31, 2020.

GO RAIDERS!!!
