My 2020 Draft Breakdown

Everyone has asked me in the days since the Draft,"So what do you think?" Well, that is a broad question and I have given fairly generic answers. "We addressed needs...", "I think it was solid....', etc. But I felt I should sit down while it is fresh....and give my true thoughts on the first ever Draft Class of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Round One the First Pick of The Las Vegas Raiders....

Henry Ruggs lll

He was behind Jeudy and Lamb on everyone's charts until the home stretch of the Draft. In the final 2 weeks Ruggs became the name you started to hear as the true front runner. He was the name the Raiders were most linked to continued conversations with and then......The Pick is in.........and Henry Ruggs lll was a Raider. What he brings is an AFC West answer to the Chiefs Tyreek Hill. He is dynamic and fast with great hands. A throwback Al Davis type pick. He can take the short check down and turn it into big plays. Which, let's be honest, with this offense and QB that may be what they need to spark the scoring. Big play weapons have been something the Raider offense has been lacking for several seasons.

Second Pick on the First Round....

Damon Arnette

The two biggest needs for the Raiders coming into the Draft were two things....WR and Defense. They addressed both in the first round by taking Ohio state Corner Damon Arnette with the 19th Pick. Arnette is physical type corner who shut down opponents in college. He brings a physical style which could mix well with what Mullen brings to the other side. He could step right in and start #2 position in Week 1.

The Back to Back Picks in the 3rd Round....

Lynn Bowden Jr. and Bryan Edwards

Lynn Bowden Jr. is a Swiss Army Knife of an athlete. He can throw, run and catch. He also carries the attitude and swagger of a Raider, which I do really like. However, his biggest downfall is his size. He was dynamic in minor league football at Kentucky but can he sustain the punishment he will take in the pros. Is he really an every down guy or just a gadget player like a Tavon Austin type that you just throw in a few plays a game? I have big questions on his ability to transition to the NFL size and speed of his opponent. I do not, however, have the same concerns for Bryan Edwards. I believe he will be one year from possibly taking Tyrell Williams job. He could be the true #2 WR we have been needing. Williams is a 2.5 at best in my  opinioin and he better watch his back with this kid. He owns almost every major receiving record at South Carolina and he is a for real 50/50 Deep Ball Threat.

The 3rd Round Pick after Trade with the Cheatriots....

Tanner Muse

The Commissioner announced him as a Linebacker but he is just as much a safety. He is good at covering tight ends and running backs coming out of the backfield. Atleast he was in college. His biggest knock is his game speed and the fact it may not translate well to the level of the pro speed. He has ability but can he hang at the next level is the biggest concern. He has great hands and ball hawk ability but if speed is an issue, that will be a problem at this level.

Another Tiger Taken....

John Simpson

Gruden and Mayock's love affair with Clemson players continues as they draft the bulldozer of a Guard John Simpson. Simpson's biggest attribute is his ability to run block and open holes. He is no slouch protecting the QB either. He helps address a problem that was a big issue coming int 2019 for the Silver and Black.

The Last Pick....

Amik Robertson

During our live draft coverage on Friday Night we were talking about getting him in the 3rd. Being able to grab him in the 4th with our last pick was amazing. What a steal!!! He has the ability to push a starter for a shot and will help out amazingly in extra DB sets. This could end up being the pick of the Draft for the Raiders in 2020. Huge upside.

As a whole, I see a very solid draft class to back up the 2019 Class. I give the 2020 Draft Class a B Grade. I fear for a couple flops but I think the diamonds found will out weigh them.

MARCH, 20 2020

The 3 Year Anniversary of RAIDER ReACTION.

So three years ago today, I sat down in front of the camera as The Commish, Host of RAIDER ReACTION. It was the pilot episode. I had been doing live shows for a season for my Fantasy League to an audience of 31 others, had gotten fairly comfortable with it, and thought I should really try a topic that I truly love and have a lot of knowledge and opinion on....RAIDER ReACTION was ultimately born. I had no idea what I was doing really but I knew I was not going to follow a formula or try to imitate someone. I also would never censor myself or sugar coat my feelings to pander to the masses. I would always remain 100% raw and real about my feeling for the team I love and support. I vowed to stay true to my mission statements and I believe I have.....Paint the World Silver and Black and Keep it Raw, Real and Uncensored. I have never been driven by acceptance, it is not something I want or desire. I come to bring 100% raw opinion based entertainment regarding the Raiders. To bring you behind the scenes of things in Raider Nation other don't show you. To take you into the Raider parties, the tailgates, to give you a forum like the one I always wanted for myself. I will never be the biggest or the brightest shining star in this stupid podcast/webcast world....but you can bet your motherfucking ass I will never kiss anyone's ass, I will never speak or say anything just to gain views and acceptance to the mainstream. I walk on The Dark Side of The Raider Nation and I'm looking forward to another 3 years shoving RAIDER ReACTION in the World's fucking ear holes.

RAIDER ReACTION @ 2020 Pro Bowl

1/3/20

My State of Mind as The Offseason Begins...

So I had hoped and prayed to the football Gods that this last season in Oakland would be a special one, one that would be remembered in Raiders History instead of the lost season it has seemed to become. The end was not as it was supposed to be written. Not for a franchise with the History and Lore of the Raiders. This just wasn't how this chapter was supposed to close in my mind for one of the Most Historic Franchises in the NFL. Not with the players being booed off the field, nacho cheese in the endzone...etc...etc. We all know what went down, one last choke job in front of the Oakland Faithful. But as they say, that horse is dead now, no sense in beating it anymore. So on that note, we dust it off and move on as a fan base. It's not our first rodeo with a disappointment at the end but with the new Social Media Forum we all have to play with....the frustration can be broadcast more openly by everyone. It spreads into groups, pages and even I myself use it as a forum to show my own reaction. I honestly think this is constructive and I enjoy hearing others point of view on topics. At least when they actually have a point anyway. This is a dawn like no other in the history of the Raider Nation. We are going to a new home, an untapped NFL market and being welcomed with open arms and awaiting us in the desert is the home we have waited decades for.....The Death Star. Call it what you want but that is what I am calling it currently. At least until it earns something else, it will remain. The entire atmosphere around Gameday will change. I have embraced the change and want to grow as a part of it. How will this all affect the 2020 season??? This Draft is again huge and it's in Vegas. These are all things I look forward to exploring, breaking down and discussing with the followers of RAIDER ReACTION all offseason. I have neglected this forum on our website the past few months but I will be putting more of my thoughts here in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.

Bengals @ Raiders

My Final prediction.

This is a Statement Game. The World is now watching after you took down solid competition two weeks in row. That was even done after a short week and an insane road stretch. The Football World has now taken notice. With the eyes now squarely planted on you....you are now handed the winless Bengals. They have benched their Pro Bowl QB and have turned this season into a 2020 Audition. This now means more to the Raiders than it does the Bengals, and they must play like it. When you are a team on the rise you must take care of the teams with lesser talent than you possess. You can not allow this game to be trap game. Cincinnati has nothing play for. They are void of serious talent on offense due to injury and have little explosiveness less. I honestly think this game is a heavy dose of Josh Jacobs with the short pass game sprinkled in. Carr will not be the feature of today's performance..... #28 will be. He will go well over the century mark and post 2 scores. Mayowa, Crosby and Ferrell will be all over this young QB today. Final Prediction - Raiders 31 Bengals 10

DETROIT LIONS @ OAKLAND RAIDERS

My Official Week 9 Prediction

This week the Raiders FINALLY return to the Coliseum and they host the 3-3-1 Detroit Lions.  At 3-4 currently on the season, this game is as close to a "must win" as you can get. A week 9 win puts you deep in the Playoff conversation as a loss would put you in a huge hole at 3-5. That makes this a very pivotal game for the direction of the Raiders 2019 Season. The Lions are not strong on D and the Raider Offense has seemed to start to find its direction. Due to this a lot of people are pegging the Raiders Offense for a huge week this week statistically. My take on this game is simple..... feed Josh Jacobs and the passing lanes will open up. Waller and Williams could be big against the Lions D and I think all 3 of them as well as Carr can be huge in fantasy this week. The Defensive Front needs to get to Stafford and rattle him early to get things moving in the right direction out of the gate. This team can be knocked off its course early. I think the Raiders answer the challenge this week and get the much needed W in their return home. My Final Prediction....Raiders win 34- 24.

Raiders @ Texans

This is a big game for the Raiders this week in Houston but I would not call it a "must win". Yes, a win this week could vault them back into the discussion as one of contenders in the AFC it but a defeat would not sink their season. A favorable home stretch FINALLY awaits and positive things are on the horizon for this young team. All they needed to do was stay above water through this insane road stretch and they did. The biggest growth you will see in this team will be during the 2nd half of this season. Do not sleep on the 2019 Oakland Raiders. The AFC West and AFC is still wide open. Raiders over Texans 28-24. My Final Prediction.

My Official Prediction

Oakland Raiders @ Green Bay Packers

Both teams come in missing their top wrs, although to the Raiders, this is a weekly occurrence. The assist from the Refs last week in a low scoring game at home against the Lions showed this team in NOT what it once was. This is a new team with a new head coach still trying to find its way. They are benefiting from being home to one of the league's "Golden Boys" and getting the majority of the calls going their way and especially at critical times to extend drives. I think the officiating will play a roll again this week but I don't think it will sway the outcome. The Raiders D will rattle Rodgers and Josh Jacobs will gash the Green Bay D. 21-17 Raiders W and move to 4-2. That is my prediction.

Today is a sad day. The morning we were supposed to be released from Social Media restrictions, we were again slapped with them without even being told what we did wrong. Accused, convicted and sentenced without even knowing my crime. Apparently Freedom of Speech does not include Social Media, namely, Facebook itself. So unfortunately, I must step completely away. Something that was supposed to be fun has now become a mental drain due to this retarded battle daily with Social Media. I will return for my Postgame ReACTION Show after the bye week on October 20th. We will then attempt to continue with business as usual in the week following. This may honestly be the beginning of the end for RAIDER ReACTION but I will make one more attempt to salvage my baby but it just may beyond saving. Sad but true. Until then......I’M OUT.

Freedom of Speech??? Why have I been silenced on a Public Forum???

I am currently starting Day 3 of having the RAIDER ReACTION Facebook Page, which is the Life Blood of our Brand, restricted from performing our basic duties. Facebook is blocking all of our live streams and anything else posted to the page from reaching our followers timelines. This is completely INSANE since we were not even told WHY we were restricted. We were only sent a list of their rules. How can you slap punishment upon someone without even letting them know their "crime"??? This seems like an ancient way of thinking. We do nothing but try to continue to give content to those who follow and support us. We try to give back thru cheap raffles and giveaways. We do nothing more than to try and attempt to create a community for a fraction of Raider Nation that needs an uncensored and adult forum to speak their mind. We are not mainstream bitches and never will be!!!!! This restriction goes against everything free speech and due process stand for. We were tried, conviceted and sentenced WITHOUT even knowing out crime. Total and complete bullshit. We will return burning HOTTER than ever. Just wait........

The Commish's Raiders Preseason Week 1 ReACTION.

Things that made me take notice in Week 1 against the Rams.

  • DWash looked solid but I think he has a hard time making the cut this season. Richard has spread the gap between the two in the depth chart and I think that will be a tough one to close for DWash. At best he looks like a #4.

  • QB Controversy???? Who will be the backup after Peterman showed up BIG???? The battle for the clipboard will get dicey now!!!!

  • The depth at WR with the young talent is for real!!!! From top to bottom the list of WRs behind the Top 2 on the depth chart shined!!! Renfrow was the only absence but he was only targeted once.

  • The revamped D looked solid only allowing 3 points. The young DBs looked great and the front of the D was getting action in the backfield and pressuring the QB. Linebackers looked solid too. A huge confidence building performance for the Defensive side of the ball.

  • Looks like we found a new punter as Townsend got the ax this week. That kid was hot garbage anyway.

You can't take alot away from Week 1 of Preseason typically but there were a lot of positives to be made by what we saw. A win is a win always even in Preseason and it breeds confidence and team unity. I look forward to our first glimpse of DC4 this week in Arizona and the continued growth of this young team. Greatness is returning..... BELIEVE!!!!!

Speed Kills #21 - R.I.P. Cliff Branch

So this past weekend we lost the Great Cliff Branch. Far too young and far too soon at the age of 71. He left us without the honor he so greatly deserved...and that is to have his name called for the Hall of Fame. To be able to stand among his peers, next to his bust and give his speech in his Gold Jacket. To be able to be revered among the Greats of the Game like he so deserved. The Hall of Fame Committee botched the induction of The Snake along with many others and it appears, unfortunately, that they waited far too long to correct this one as well. A dark cloud hung over all of the festivities of Hall of Fame Weekend 2019 because you were inducting guys like Ty Law and Kevin Mawae who barely even touched the Greatness of Branch. Mawae blocked for two guys who had a couple great regular seasons rushing the ball and Cliff wears 3 rings having achieved Greatness at the pinnacle of his sport. His stats pale those of Lynn Swann who has been in for over a decade and a half from the same era and at the same position. It is with great sadness that we have lost Cliff and it is also tragedy that he was not allowed to bask in the limelight of his own personal success at the top of his craft. He will for sure be inducted someday soon, but to all of us in the Raider Nation.....he was already a Hall of Famer years ago. Rest easy #21 and take 'em deep!!!!

My 2 Cents on Tyreek Hill.

So of course I made a few memes and posted the official press release I received from the league about Tyreek Hill when I heard the news. Then generally voiced my displeasure for the lack of punishment from the League and went on about my day. However, after a Twitter "debate" I realized how much this really bothered me that they brushed this one aside. That the League looked past the glaring circumstantial evidence of a 3 year old with a broken arm who could possibly live in fear from an abuser. I have seen harsher punishments handed out with less evidence and for far less of a crime. There is no sliding scale or grading system that exists for the levels of punishment Goodell and the League hands out....it is basically arbitrary and Goodell's call on the length and severity of the punishment. I honestly feel in my heart of hearts, that after the exit of Kareem Hunt, the NFL was in no way shape or form going to take another one of the key weapons away from it's New Poster Boy and Madden Cover unless it was glaring concrete evidence like the Ray Rice video. I think they are sweeping this one under the rug because it goes against the marketing plan for the NFL in 2019. I believe child abuse has taken a back seat to greed. That is my 2 cents. I can only hope someone lights up Tyreek Hill every time he steps on the field this season. SMH. Bad form NFL....bad form.

The Commish's Top 10 Most Hated Teams

#10 - The Rain City Bitch Pigeons. Or Seahawks. Whatever you call them.

Old Division rivals and the fact they had to completely switch conferences to FINALLY

win one just chaps me. They should be an honorable mention on the Kiddie Table.

#9 - The Buffalo Bills. 4 TIME LOSERS.

One of my best friends growing up during their run was a Bills fan. This grew my hatred for this team. I relished in watching them fail and have their hearts ripped out yearly for the World to see.

#8 - The Tampa Bay Succaneers.

Do I need to elaborate???? Really I don't think I do. Our last Super Bowl and all that lead to it. SMH. I can't even still....... Fuck Tampa Bay. Fake ass pirates. They will never even sniff another.

#7 - The Minnesota Vikings.

I don't know why I have such a hatred for the Vikings and their fans. Maybe its the encounters I have had with them at the several Raiders Vikings games I have attended in the past or its just the fact I hate purple. Who knows. But I know we play them again this season and I can't WAIT to stomp all over their dreams. Kirk Cousins??? LMFAO what a joke thinking he will save anything.

#6 - The Dallas Cowboys - The Team that used to be America's Team.

I don't have enough time to make the list I would need to make for this team. Is it more the team or the obnoxious fan base that I hate? I would say it's more of a mixture of both with a dash of ignorance sprinkled on top. Cowboys fans are some of the most clueless I have encountered when it comes to ACTUAL statistics of their team. Prove me wrong. LMAO.

#5 - The San Diego/Las Angeles Chargers/Chokers/Sparklers.

A Division Rival who has never won anything but has none the less remained a torn in our ass. Rivers and his over fertile bolo tie wearing ass have caused me more pain than I care to remember. The Raiders worst times happened to be some of their best of times but even with LT... they still still at the Kiddie Table. Now they have a bastard fan base and Raider fans like myself just sit back and smile. :)

#4 - The New England Patriots.

The Tuck Rule. Tom Brady. The hatred boils as I even type. The dynasty started on Raider blood. I have nothing else to say about them. Fuck The Cheatriots.

#3 - The Shitsburgh Steelers.

The hatred for this team was born into me when I became a Raider fan at a very young age. Steeler fans are an obnoxious breed and their team currently lead by the rapist or accused rapist ( we all know the truth on that one ) are something that is difficult to stomach. The Immacualte Deception, so called illegal hits, etc. etc. have grown the hatred for all things yellow and black in my football life.

#2 - The Kansas City Queefs.

Division rivals and a fan base that have probably never seen their team win a thing in their lifetime. I have never seen a stadium so loud for a team that does nothing but fail. Mahomes will be the next in a long line of KC QBs who couldn't get it done. He is your next Elvis Grbac. Enjoy Queef fans. He will be the death of that fat Walrus Head Coach of yours.

#1 - The Denver Donkeys.

It started with Elway and grew like an STD. Broncos fans are like herpes...they are just never gone. Orange and blue is a putrid color combination and everything goes downhill from there. The fan base is subhuman at best and the fact they finally caught us in Lombardi Trophies disgusts me even more. The Donkeys are BY FAR my most hated team. It is on historical porportions compared to any other team. The Queefs are very close but the fact they have just never REALLY won anything, that drops them to second.

  2. Chiefs come to Oakland for the 2nd straight Divisional Home Game to start the season.       L

  3. Head to Minnesota to play the Vikings in the first road game of the season.                                 W

  4. The road trip continues to Indy to play the Colts and General Neck Beard.                                    L

  5. The road trip now spans across the pond as The Mack/Carr reunion takes place in London.    W

  6. BYE WEEK!!!!! The Raiders take a break in the middle of a LONG road trip.

  7. Raiders continue back on the road as they head to the frozen tundra to take on the Packers.      L

  8. Raiders finally get to end the insane road trip @ The Texans.                                                           W

  9. Finally a home game!!!! The 1st of 3 as they face off against the Kiddie Table dwelling Lions.    W

  13. The 2nd game against the Queefs and they squeek out another close victory. KC wins division. L

  14. The Final Home Stand Begins!!! The Re-Tread Oilers(Titans) come to town!!!!                               L

  15. The Last Home Game of 2019 Regular Season!!! Hosting the Jags and Nick Foles.                         W

  16. Ending the season on back to back division road games. First up the Chokers and ol' bolo tie!!!W

  17. Wrapping up 2019 on the road in Donkeyville.                                                                                      W

The Raiders finish the season 9-7 and return to the Playoffs in 2019 as a Wild Card!!!

I believe the Raiders will make a strong stand at the end of the season and clinch a Playoff spot as they start to gel late in the season. The back to back road

divisional wins will solidify them as a force to reckon with in the Playoffs. The Return to Greatness will continue in 2019.
